Hippopotamus + Flying Encore

9th March 2013 (Saturday)

Alex have always liked the chicken drumlets and food at Hippopotamus at Marina Square (had to think abit how to spell.. lol!)

so when i chanced upon a Groupon deal for it ($32.50 for $50 Food Voucher), quickly bought it so that we can revisit the place...

Just realised the restaurant is a household name in France and this is its first outlet in Singapore http://www.hungrygowhere.com/singapore/Hippopotamus_Restaurant_Grill/

hmmm never seen it before in Paris leh...

but then again no wonder i love it too then! i love French food!

will try their escargots next time!

Alex with his spring chicken and choice of 2 sides... baked potatoes and Ratatouille (i picked dat)

 photo IMG_3002.jpg
Me with my same main and fries and potato gratin

had to cancel dessert cos we were simply too full from eating the whole spring chicken! will be back again!

 photo IMG_3008.jpg
then it was off to Esplanade to catch Flying Encore.... a Korean action comedy... abit slapstick but definitely entertaining...

After the show we headed to Max Brenner for a drink...

 photo IMG_3013.jpg
My boy's 1st visit to Max Brenner!

 photo IMG_3015.jpg
but he ordered Iced Latte which turned out disappointing... erm dear they are famous for their chocolates not their coffee...

   photo IMG_3016.jpg
since is his first visit treated him to an ice-cream bars dessert that i always wanted to try too!

 photo IMG_3017.jpg
2 sticks for $18, 1 for $11 or $12 i think... not cheap but yummy!

 photo IMG_3022.jpg

 photo IMG_3018.jpg
we first dip our ice-cream bars in the melted chocolate...

 photo IMG_3019.jpg
and then into the bowl full of tiny chocolate malt balls...

 photo IMG_3024.jpg
on into the bowl of shaved chocolate slices...

 photo IMG_3020.jpg
or both! yummy!

 photo IMG_3023.jpg
baby thinking... 'finally take finish pictures and i can eat?'

Dolce Vita

Alex had cell group on 8th March Friday so again missed the wonderful Dolce Vita...

which is soon becoming our favourite restaurant to gather!

It is classy (for Ms Teo)

Child friendly (for the Tans)

and reasonably priced (thanks to the staff discount) and easily accessible (for me)

I love foie gras!

 photo IMG_2989.jpg
happy Gillian with her main course until she realised that our plates were actually wrongly placed so hers is medium well instead of medium rare...

but the restaurant promptly got hers replaced... great service!

 photo IMG_2990.jpg
i realised i can eat medium rare except till the middle so in future will order medium... hehe!
