Looks like Bread Talk has jumped on the salted egg yolk croissant craze bandwagon! They are selling mini ones at $1 each with buy 6 get 1 free or buy 10 get 2 free promo! Verdict by Bff and colleagues are that it is pretty good! Not that we have tasted the other overpriced ones at cafes. As you can see from below pic the texture of the croissant is crispy while the egg yolk is thick though a tad on the oily side! However Bread Talk need work on their recipe such that the egg yolk can remain inside the croissant rather than making a mess as per seen below.

Twins
After our last failed attempt to visit on a sat afternoon we finally made it for dinner on a recent Sunday!

In the empty restaurant that quickly filled up!

The menu which states only fresh chicken was used... We say you really can taste the difference!

Menu page 2

The desserts which we didn't try

The seafood pancake $20 was crispy and for something filled with veggies were super delicious! Somehow it also cured my craving for Ou Jian (Oyster Omelette)! That's how crispy and flavorful it is! However it is a little pricey for the little amount of seafood in it!

Even the fat boy who hates veggies loved it!

The highlight! Korean fried chicken wings in soy sauce!

we still prefer the kko kko nara chicken even though it is smaller and less juicy but this is something we would still come back for.

happy fat boy with the food!
no pics of me as i was without makeup.

23 Jumpin
Happened to be in the area to pick up my dad's car and randomly googled places to eat in Tai Seng. Turned out there is a happening cluster of cafes a 2 mins walk from Tai Seng MRT Exit A. After research we decided to head to 23 Jumpin.

my duck leg confit which looks a mess but is actually quite good! so food presentation 1 star but taste 4.5 stars

The burger was pretty awesome for the price! Think it was $16. Pardon me if I'm wrong. I generally don't like burgers as the beef usually taste too beefy if u get what I mean. But this tasted just like a minced up steak and is definitely freshly made (or so I guess). The caramelized onions and sauce all add balance well on the soft bread. Is definitely a burger we will be back for!

The paprika honey wings to share served on a chop board same as Lola's Cafe. 10 half wings for $8. Half wings are just so much more convenient to eat and these were crunchy and definitely something I will order again. But not something I will head there specially for unlike the Lola's ones of the burger above!

The cola float $5 is a refreshing fix from the hot sun outside!
The mister had a cold latte which is so nice that he slurped it up before I remembered to take a pic.
Overall a ulu place but definitely worth a visit!

Turn left head to the back lane after coming out from Tai Seng MRT Exit A.
Then turn right and walk along the curved road and you will see a yellow building with a row of small cafes with black tinted glass exterior.

Boufe Boutique Cafe
Rare chance to eat with the bro in law after church (he usually attend the youth ministry on Sat) so we rode and drove to this cafe suggested by him! Youngsters know the more happening places and Boufe Boutique Cafe at 308 Tanglin Road is definitely one of them! It is located in Pheonix Park where another popular brunch place, Spruce is located right at the entrance.
I love black and white houses with swing! If only I can afford one!
The super crowded interior! But we were quickly given a table in a corner so I think the wait is definitely acceptable considering it was during Sunday afternoon lunch hour.
My ice mocha which I didn't really like as I dun like coffee with a strong acidic note...
Trying to take an Instagram worthy pic with the white table decor!
Bro In law's Hisbiscus Tea and Eggs Benedict
Hubby and him both ordered the same thing and both said were good! The ham was fried in bacon fat giving it more flavour.
My salted egg york cray fish with sourdough bread and mushrooms . I'm allergic to some mushrooms but thankfully these were fine! I also love the soft bread that went well with the salted egg york. But the salted egg york sauce itself could do with more flavour as it was on the bland side. Overall is still something i would order again.
We ordered an opera cake to share! The cakes at this cafe is definitely worth the price! It is of high quality comparable to that served at high end hotels.
Sadly they forgot our wings order ($10) so this was served last. Preferred these to those at 23 Jumpin which we ate a day earlier but i will blog about soon. I prefer more honey than those with more paprika powder!

Taiwan Trip Kao Hsiung Day 1
After our Taipei photoshoot, we were on the morning bullet train to Kao Hsiung...
Bought this to share. Abit like round 叉烧酥 with 肉包 filling! NT40 for one!
The bridal studio staff recommended other night markets that are less touristy and more for the locals but we just had no time!
Our gigantic 3 storey high bridal studio! In fact the whole street is full of bridal studios! Next time can just go there find need not sign package in advance in SG!
Heng we bought the tickets online at early bird price (35% off) and collected the tickets in advance, if not must wake up even earlier!
Conveniently located opposite kao Hsiung mrt - train station stop
But I referred to wrong map and got off at 美丽岛站 which is nearer to our bridal studio so we ended up walking for 20 mins with our luggages!
Headed for lunch at 正忠排骨饭 about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
Come out of hotel turn left pass Kindness hotel and turn left again at junction (a motorbike parking and rental place) and walk straight till u see a 4 storey building with the words 正忠排骨饭 spanning the whole building. Kinda hard to miss!
A giant piece of pork chop and 3 small sides only NT70! Super value for money!
Happy but little did we know the bridal studio will also tabao this for us during our photoshoot the next day! But we ordered the drumstick one the next day! Also super nice with a giant drumstick! There goes my hope of eating less to fit into more gowns!
As it was too early for our 2pm appointment, we continued walking straight down to a bookstore cafe!
Chilling with books and milk tea!
Then it was gown picking time! I can't remember the name of the lady that service me but she was super patient and let me try a million gowns! End up we still took one of the first few gowns I tried! Oops! Only think is she didn't allow me to take pics of the gowns I tried so no t much pics... Here are some I secretly took pic of but I didn't pick them...
I took pics of the 1 white and 2 evening gowns I picked for my photoshoot but no t posting till after my wedding!
After that we again walked straight to the recommended balloon shop by the bridal studio to order balloons for our shoot tomorrow.
Spent NT590 for 10 heart shaped balloons in different colours and bubble gun!
I actually didn't want any props for the photoshoot. Partially because I'm lazy and partially because I just want a simple classy shoot not overwhelmed by props... But I've always loved balloons and bubbles since young so I'm glad for the chance to incorporate that in at the last minute.
Then again is short walk straight to next junction and cross the road to 六合夜市。
Nearest mrt stop is 美丽岛站 exit 11 walk straight and you will see it on Ur left.
Thirsty so bought yakult green tea from this cute store! NT50 for a giant sized cup!
