 photo IMG_2959.jpg
the giant scallop, prawns, crayfish and sashimi!

 photo IMG_2960.jpg
i love the giant scallops! think i had at least 10!

 photo IMG_2961.jpg
baby's tiny mouth is smaller than the scallop~
 photo IMG_2962.jpg
there were also cooked food such as roast chicken, curry chicken, prawn rolls and fried fish

pretty normal but still yummy!

 photo IMG_2963.jpg
the teppanyaki lobster and scallop were limited edition item and we only got a serving each...

 photo IMG_2965.jpg
too small for baby...

 photo IMG_2966.jpg

 photo IMG_2964.jpg
why only 1 serving????

 photo IMG_2967.jpg
other cooked food! i love the tempura!

 photo IMG_2968-1.jpg
then it was on to my favourite desserts....

 photo IMG_2969-1.jpg
unfortunately most looked better than they tasted...

 photo IMG_2970-1.jpg
disappointed dessert lover!

 photo IMG_2971.jpg

 photo IMG_2972-1.jpg

 photo IMG_2973-1.jpg
tried almost all the variety there

ok lah not dat bad but nothing memorable...

n alot seemed to be completely frozen and fresh out of the fridge...

Overall verdict:
ok if you are a seafood lover as the seafood are served really fresh
but can give it a miss if you place emphasis on desserts
but anyway it is impossible to eat till $39 worth so won't consider going for another buffet in the short run...

Outfit of the day:
Chiffon embellished batwing dress from ASOS
bought long ago but never wore it cos i felt it made me look fat but then again i m fat now so it doesnt matter anymore ... lol!

Xiumei's Bday

19th May 2013 (Sunday)

Shucks i mixed up the sequence of my entries ... Derrick is sure to scold me again...

anyway one of my oldest friend Xiumei was celebrating her XXth bday on 20th May so we had an early bday celebration for her...

 photo IMG_2892.jpg
Xiumei and Lihui at Gardens by the bay before meeting me...
i couldnt join as i was sick after going just the day before!
the hot sun and the cold domes do not go well for my old body!

 photo IMG_2890.jpg
Happy Birthday to my dearest babe! Glad you are finally "grounded" with the rest of us!

 photo IMG_2893.jpg
Me with Lihui babe who introduced us to the yummiest Korean Fried Chicken i have ever tasted!

even beat my previous fave 4 Fingers (though i still love 4 Fingers for the more pocket friendly price)!

Kko Kko Nara at Tras Street is a must go!

My iphone crashed that night so i lost all pictures of the yummy fried chicken but would be back again to take more pics for sure!

 photo IMG_2891.jpg
Outfit of the day:
Forever 21 floral and lace clinched waist tunic (bought a long time ago online so i forgot the price)
Uniqlo white spag top underneath ($7.90 at the recent Uniqlo sale! great layering tool!)
(Unseen in pic) Black Uniqlo skinny Jeggings that are super comfortable!
Great for heavy flow days and cold overseas trips!

 photo IMG_2913.jpg
also did my nails that afternoon before meeting the gals...

 photo IMG_2917.jpg
an apple a day keeps the doctor away!

 photo IMG_2915.jpg
loving the apple and glitter tips combo (though picked mainly to cut cost and save $)

20 Nails at Dawson Place #01-03A is where i have my regular package on top of my groupon ones (oops cheapo accountant!)

they never fail to disappoint and the gelish manicures that they do for me usually last beyond the 3 weeks stated!

For the above the glitter tip is free with the $59 gelish manicure
$3 for each apple and i had 4 so $12
additional 20% discount for their package holders!

deeply pissed with my recent deal bought at Palette Nails @ Star Vista

i bought a Groupon for 3 sessions of Gelish Manicure and Express Pedicure with them in January
could not get an appointment for CNY even though i was willing to pay the top up
so in the end i did at 20 Nails above
made a 2nd attempt to book in March (cos as mentioned my 20 Nails gelish usually last beyond a month)
could not get an appointment till 2 weeks later approaching end March

person assured me that as long as i start the first session before the package expiry date in April i would be able to use all 3 sessions

the first session with Palette Nails was disappointing for various reasons
1) i waited very long even though i made an appointment cos they accepted an ang moh lady who walked in just before me even though they were already fully occupied... so i had to wait behind the ang moh lady... what is the point of making an appointment with me then?
my other nail places always told walk in clients to come back at a more acceptable time if they were fully packed...

2) they charge extra $5 for the new OPI colours... like WTH? i never heard of such rulings

extra $5 for a glittery gelish colour too... just the colour mind you... the glitter tip which is free at 20 Nails cost $15 there!

3) the glitter purple colour that i paid $5 extra for chipped and came off within a week! Gelish is supposed to last 3 weeks!

But still when you pay peanuts u get monkeys....

So i just wanted to use finish my 3 sessions and didn't bother to go complain within the 1st week when the gelish came off as some of my friends suggested...

which proved to be a huge mistake!

because when i next tried to make appointment and headed down for it, they said the deal has expired and told me to get back the money from Groupon!

hence the above was a last minute visit to 20 Nails...

emailed Groupon but they said since i already utilised the voucher (even if just 1 of the 3) i cannot get back the refund unless i can get email proof from Palette Nails stating i have only used 1 of the 3 sessions

which to date they have refused to reply all my calls and emails!

need to call back on a day when i am feeling especially nasty!

bad experience at Palette Nails do not ever go there!

i mean i paid peanuts and is cheapo hence the quality of the gelish sucks i accept it.... but i should not pay for services they promised i could utilise and yet do not allow me to after that!

Start of Long Weekend - Vivo with Mildred

23rd May 2013 (Thursday)

Oops have abandoned the blog and some of my friends for a long time....

So on eve of Vesak day, while Alex had life group (aka cell group), met Mildred at Vivo for dinner and to discuss our Europe trip...

used to quite love the pork cutlet (best in Singapore i've tasted so far though still no where near what i tasted in Kyoto) at this quaint little jap restaurant at B2 called Akashi

but i discovered it was changed to Ichiban Boshi!

 photo IMG_2939.jpg

the foie gras and wagyu beef rice with mentai sauce! my new fave!

that is only available at Ichiban Boshi and not Ichiban Sushi... but it is part of a premium menu on the side... hope they add it to the regular menu soon!

however the Centrepoint branch does it better as the beef is more well cooked though still tender...

the Vivo branch one is abit too raw for my liking...

 photo IMG_2940.jpg
Outfit of the day - Birdie dress from Moonriver at Plaza Sing basement... 3 for $50! no lining but cheap for easy to wear and good for work and play dresses!

 photo IMG_2941.jpg
also redeemed my Starbucks free drink! n since they have no size restriction of cos ordered the biggest!

unfortunately we also discovered there is no wifi at starbucks..

so nothing discussed n it was just a eating and shopping trip! still had lotsa fun!

love my new Guess bling fuschia Tshirt which i hope to wear soon!

Food for Thought...

10th March 2013 (Sunday)

Reached the place 1 hour earlier as took the train with Alex to church...

entertained myself by watching a little kid playing with bubbles outside...

 photo IMG_3025.jpg
ideal way to spend Sunday morning minus the scorching sun...

 photo IMG_3027.jpg

 photo IMG_3028.jpg
the place mats...

 photo IMG_3029.jpg
the yummylicious breakfast which is only $12 before taxes i think... totally value for $... no wonder there was a huge crowd and the waitress kept aiming my table when my frens were late...

 photo IMG_3030.jpg
me with Pris and Cindy! thanks for inviting me on the China trip and inviting me into your lives!

Outfit of the day:-
Embellished cap sleeve black tee from New Look ($16.90)
